F1 has grown substantially in the United States over the last handful of years – but there is still room for growth, according to the McLaren CEO.
McLaren CEO Zak Brown believes there is still potential for growth in TV viewership for F1 in the United States. F1 has seen significant expansion in the US, with three permanent grands prix in Miami, Austin, and Las Vegas. A recent five-year deal with Apple to air F1 in the US is valued at around $750 million. Despite rising race attendance nationwide, TV viewership lags behind other major sports like American football. Brown emphasizes the importance of improving TV ratings for continued growth in the US market. While F1 viewership in the US is increasing, there is still room for growth compared to established sports like the NFL.
