With a 32-point lead over Lewis Hamilton, Sergio Perez enters the penultimate race weekend of the year with a chance of securing a historic one-two in the Drivers’ Championship for Red Bull.
Sergio Perez is determined to finish second in the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship, ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. He is currently in a battle with Lewis Hamilton, with a 32-point gap between them and two races remaining. In order to have a chance in the final race in Abu Dhabi, Hamilton would need to have a lead of 25 points or less. If Perez can outscore Hamilton by seven points in Las Vegas, it would allow Red Bull to achieve a historic one-two in the championship. Despite the pressure, Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner has expressed his support for Perez regardless of the outcome. Perez expects the race in Las Vegas to provide many opportunities, but also acknowledges the challenges of understanding how the temperatures will affect the cars on the new track surface.
