The Mercedes boss is on the look out for a new driver after Lewis Hamilton’s decision to quit.
Toto Wolff expressed interest in signing either Lando Norris or Charles Leclerc for Mercedes, but both drivers recently signed new contracts with McLaren and Ferrari respectively. Wolff suggested that Mercedes may make a bold move in selecting Hamilton’s replacement, with 17-year-old Andrea Kimi Antonelli being considered as a potential future star. Wolff acknowledged that if Hamilton’s departure had been announced earlier, Mercedes may have pursued Norris or Leclerc. Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, Wolff stated that the driver market is intriguing and they are considering various options to partner with George Russell. He emphasized the need to take time in making this decision.
