Red Bull used a filming day at Silverstone on Wednesday to evaluate new parts to its RB22, with one in particular catching the eye.
Max Verstappen was seen testing Red Bull’s own version of Ferrari’s Macarena rear wing during a recent filming day at Silverstone. The Red Bull RB22 was equipped with new parts, including a new front wing, sidepods, and a modified rear wing resembling Ferrari’s design. Ferrari’s rear wing features a unique mechanism that opens and closes through 270 degrees on straights, creating lift. Red Bull’s interpretation of the design differs, with a central pillar serving as the actuator. Despite Ferrari testing the wing in pre-season, they have yet to use it in a competitive race weekend, opting for a standard rear wing in recent Grand Prix events.
