Setback for Max Verstappen as he prepares for Nurburgring 24 Hours challenge

Five teams can breathe easier ahead of qualifying for the Nurburgring 24 Hours next month – but Max Verstappen’s entry is not among them.

As anticipation grows ahead of Max Verstappen’s debut in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, securing the best starting position is not crucial for the long race, but making it into the final 12 shootout would provide a confidence boost for all.

Due to a tragic cancellation of the first qualifier race, only five teams have automatically qualified for the Top Qualifying 3 session, leading to additional challenges for Verstappen’s team.

Verstappen, along with teammates Dani Juncadella, Lucas Auer, and Jules Gounon, will have to navigate through a three-stage elimination process to earn their spot in TQ3.

A notable twist in the qualifying rules requires each team to field a different driver in every stage of Top Qualifying, preventing them from relying solely on one driver’s expertise.

Despite the obstacles, Verstappen and his team have the opportunity to secure a place in SQ3 through TQ1 and TQ2, aiming to join the other five teams who have already secured their spots.
