The organisers of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring have adjusted the Balance of Performance for the race.
Max Verstappen has received a significant advantage in his bid for victory at the Nürburgring 24 Hours due to recent Balance of Performance (BoP) adjustments.
His team will start the race from the fourth position on the grid behind the #84 and #130 Lamborghinis, which occupy the front row.
The BoP system in endurance racing is used to equalize the performance of competing cars by imposing weight penalties and power reductions on faster teams and cars.
After the Top Qualifying results, organizers have implemented additional BoP changes, with Lamborghini and Porsche each carrying an extra five kilograms and BMW facing a larger 10-kilogram increase.
Verstappen’s advantage is further enhanced as Mercedes, the defending champion, does not need to make any BoP modifications, potentially benefiting from the adjustments applied to BMW and Lamborghini.
Overall, these adjustments aim to level the playing field and create a more competitive race environment at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
