Verstappen’s Tactical Triumph: Pursuing Redemption at the Nürburgring 24 Hours

Will Max Verstappen be back in action at the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2027? That’s the big question after his debut this year. Much will depend on how the F1 calendar plays out.

Max Verstappen expressed his eagerness to participate in the Nürburgring 24 Hours race next year and suggested it would be “logical” for the F1 calendar to accommodate his involvement. Despite a driveshaft failure that dropped his team to 38th place in his debut race with Jules Gounon, Lucas Auer, and Dani Juncadella, Verstappen is determined to return to the Nordschleife to finish what he started. The Nürburgring has confirmed the dates for the 2027 race, alleviating concerns about scheduling conflicts with the F1 calendar, which is yet to be finalized. Verstappen confirmed his hunger for another attempt at the endurance race, stating that winning had always been the goal and expressing disappointment in missing out on the victory. Although Verstappen is hopeful for a favorable calendar, he modestly acknowledged that there are no guarantees and that the final decision is beyond his control.
