Lewis Hamilton will be hoping for a much more successful campaign this year, his second with Ferrari.
Former F1 race engineer Rob Smedley discussed Lewis Hamilton’s challenges at Ferrari in 2025, following his move from Mercedes, where he struggled without a podium finish throughout the season. Smedley highlighted that Hamilton’s difficulties stemmed from adjusting to a new team environment and a different approach to racing compared to his time at Mercedes. The departure of his longtime race engineer, Riccardo Adami, also played a role in Hamilton’s adaptation process. Smedley empathized with Hamilton’s situation, drawing on his own experience of transitioning between teams during his engineering career. Despite the challenges faced in his first season at Ferrari, Smedley expressed confidence in Hamilton’s ability to bounce back and have a more competitive performance in the upcoming F1 season.
