Lewis Hamilton is testing a theory in the Canadian GP, that time on the simulator is not required for preparation.
Lewis Hamilton has chosen not to use Ferrari’s simulator for the Canadian Grand Prix, citing issues with correlation between the simulator and the actual car, despite acknowledging its utility. Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, is actively involved in enhancing the simulator technology at Ferrari, even though he has refrained from utilizing it for the Montreal race weekend. Hamilton described the simulator as extraordinary and praised the team that operates it, highlighting the valuable role it plays in the team’s development. During his career, the British driver’s perception of simulators has evolved significantly since his first experience with McLaren in 1997, a session that he found less enjoyable due to the extensive laps and technical limitations of the equipment. Despite his historical discomfort with simulator sessions, Hamilton has gradually increased his usage of them, particularly in recent years when he began to perceive them as more beneficial tools for improving performance on track.
