A Celebration of Legacy: Hamilton and Alonso Honor McLaren’s 1000th Grand Prix Milestone

The 2007 team-mates joined some familiar faces to celebrate McLaren’s 1000th Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso have taken part in an event at Monaco Grand Prix to mark McLaren’s 1,000th Grand Prix celebration. The team is commemorating 60 years since its first race in 1966 by Bruce McLaren. Former teammates Hamilton and Alonso, now driving for Ferrari and Aston Martin, joined a group of McLaren’s past race winners at the event. F1 boss Stefano Domenicali was also in attendance, along with 11 out of the 15 surviving drivers who have won a Grand Prix for McLaren. Notable absences from the lineup include Alain Prost, Jenson Button, Kimi Raikkonen, and Daniel Ricciardo. The event highlighted 93 of the team’s 203 wins, with a lineup that included current drivers and legends like David Coulthard, Mika Hakkinen, and Emerson Fittipaldi.
