Kimi Antonelli claims George Russell Canadian GP ‘failure’ a ‘shame’
Kimi Antonelli expressed disappointment that George Russell experienced a power unit failure during their thrilling battle at the Canadian Grand Prix, which ultimately ended in Russell’s retirement.
Despite the setback, Antonelli secured his fourth consecutive victory and extended his lead in the drivers’ standings by 43 points.
Antonelli acknowledged the challenging conditions they faced during the race, with gusty winds and difficult turns making the competition intense.
Managing front-left graining was Antonelli’s only concern, but he successfully controlled it well enough to set the fastest lap on the final lap.
Looking ahead to the Monaco race, Antonelli emphasized the need to keep pushing the limits, especially with strong competition from teams like Ferrari, Red Bull, and McLaren on the rise.
