He suggested imposing severe sanctions on the Dutch driver to discourage disrespectful comments about the sport. Montoya proposed issuing Verstappen with enough penalty points to approach the 12-point suspension threshold, advocating for consequences for negative behavior. Despite currently having three penalty points, additional points could bring Verstappen close to a one-race suspension, prompting a different attitude.
