Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull, is drawing inspiration from a lesson taught by Niki Lauda as he aims to prevent his team from becoming complacent in their 2024 Formula 1 title defenses. Red Bull dominated the 2023 season, winning 21 out of 22 races and setting a record-breaking 860 points in the Constructors’ Championship. They secured their sixth title, with Max Verstappen winning his third Drivers’ title. However, Horner wants to ensure that the team continues to learn and improve, rather than resting on their laurels. He believes in constantly analyzing their performances, even in races that they win, to identify areas for improvement. Despite their success, Red Bull has not made significant performance upgrades since the summer break due to wind tunnel restrictions, choosing to focus on developing next year’s car instead. However, they have managed to maintain consistency across different circuits.
