George Russell Dominates Canada Sprint Qualifying, Max Verstappen Fumes – A Clash of Titans

George Russell started his bounce back from a disappointing Miami GP by securing Sprint pole in Canada.

“George Russell claimed Sprint pole position at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, narrowly beating teammate Kimi Antonelli by 0.068s thanks to Mercedes’ upgrades. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri filled the second row, with Lewis Hamilton in fifth, all trailing Russell by over three tenths. Max Verstappen, frustrated with his RB22’s performance, settled for seventh after struggling in sprint qualifying. Russell’s dominance continued into the final part, securing pole with a blistering 1m 12.965 lap time. Hamilton dropped to fifth, as Antonelli improved to second, while Verstappen finished seventh behind Charles Leclerc. In the second part, Verstappen’s complaints about his car’s handling didn’t prevent him from progressing to Sprint qualifying’s final stage. Drama unfolded in the first session as Fernando Alonso suffered a late crash at Turn 3, triggering a red flag moment.”
