George Russell will be hoping Mercedes is not leapfrogged by any F1 rivals in the upgrade arms race.
As per George Russell, the F1 upgrade arms race is expected to be delayed until the Canadian Grand Prix, marking a departure from the usual schedule. Traditionally, F1 teams have unveiled significant upgrade packages at the Miami Grand Prix, which follows the frenetic early part of the season. However, this year, due to the April shutdown and new energy regulations, the focus is shifting towards the Montreal weekend at the end of May. Russell, of Mercedes, emphasized the team’s readiness to resume the campaign, hinting at a delayed introduction of new parts. He highlighted the complexities of the sport under the new regulations while expressing confidence in Mercedes’ current position. Despite the anticipated shift in strategies, the aim remains to maintain their leading position in the races to come.
