During a recent “dream meeting,” Franco Colapinto expressed his amazement at the numerous questions asked by Lionel Messi.
In April, Colapinto completed a demonstration run for Alpine in Buenos Aires before flying to Miami for the fourth round of the F1 season, where he met Messi and fellow player Rodrigo de Paul.
Colapinto was taken aback by Messi’s knowledge and genuine interest in the roadshow, emphasizing the unique and special nature of the encounter.
Despite initial uncertainties about Messi’s attendance due to a fixture clash, the football icon did attend the grand prix as a guest of Mercedes, interacting with Colapinto and other drivers.
Colapinto’s outstanding performance saw him qualify in the top 10 for both the Sprint and the grand prix, finishing 8th and securing his career-best result, marking a significant achievement for Argentine motorsport.
