FIA release statement after spectator dies at Argentina rally
The FIA has confirmed a spectator’s death during a tragic incident at Round 2 of the FIA CODASUR Rally Championship in Argentina. Two other spectators were injured in the incident on Sunday. Competitors Didier Arias and Héctor Núñez were uninjured as the car rolled into a spectator area, but one person sadly perished. The FIA expressed condolences and pledged support for the investigation by organizers and local authorities. The CODASUR Rally Championship, operated by the FIA, covers five South American countries and is overseen by CODASUR, the continent’s motorsport federation.
