The Formula 2 feature race, supporting the F1 Miami Grand Prix, has been delayed by a few minutes due to adverse weather in Florida.
The Formula 2 feature race kick-off has been postponed, and the formation lap is now slated to begin at 09:31 local time, delaying the F1 support series as well.
The inclement weather conditions at the Miami International Autodrome have been the deciding factor behind the delayed start.
F2’s presence in Florida is a result of the rescheduling of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, jeopardizing its main race due to the prevailing adverse weather, encompassing thunder and lightning.
Once the race starts, the formation lap will be conducted under the supervision of the safety car.
The McLaren Trophy America race took the first hit of the day among the support races, with its cancellation after being scheduled for 08:00 local time.
To accommodate the weather challenges, the start time of the Miami Grand Prix has been shifted to 13:00 local time from the initial 16:00 slot, as the FIA and F1 seek a dry window for the fourth round of the season.
