The Return of a Racing Legend: F1 Champion Set to Break Three-Year Hiatus

It’s been a while. Welcome back, Jacques Villeneuve.

Jacques Villeneuve will make his long-awaited return to competitive racing by driving in this year’s Porsche Supercup series after a break following a short-lived stint in the 2023 World Endurance Championship with Floyd Vanwall Racing Team, where he had mixed results.

This 55-year-old Canadian racing legend has an illustrious career, having won the CART title and the Indy 500 in 1995, among many other accomplishments, but this will mark his debut in the Porsche Supercup.

Villeneuve’s car will feature a distinctive striped livery inspired by his mother’s jumpers, a signature design element that has become synonymous with his racing persona.

The announcement of his participation was made through the Porsche Supercup Instagram page, highlighting his stellar career and unique helmet designs that have made him easily recognizable in the motorsport community.

Fans can catch Villeneuve in action as he competes in the eight-race series, starting in Monaco in June and wrapping up in Monza in September, on the support card across F1 grand prix weekends.
