Lewis Hamilton was strong in his demand for greater representation for F1 drivers.
Senior F1 bosses have addressed Lewis Hamilton’s call for a “seat at the table” in FIA negotiations. The F1 Commission, responsible for discussing technical regulation changes, does not officially include drivers like Hamilton, who desires a greater role in decision-making processes.
Hamilton emphasized the importance of drivers having a say in future discussions, a sentiment supported by Ferrari’s Fred Vasseur and Williams’ James Vowles. Vasseur highlighted that drivers’ input on recent engine modifications was beneficial and necessary for finding compromises.
Vowles mentioned Carlos Sainz’s involvement as a GPDA director consulting with FIA’s Nikolas Tombazis on regulation changes. While recognizing the value of driver feedback, Vowles emphasized the need to maintain efficiency in decision-making processes.
The ongoing efforts include creating avenues for drivers to share their perspectives on various aspects and ensuring their voices are heard without bias towards any specific party.
