Formula E offered ex-F1 driver David Coulthard a chance to drive its new Gen4 car at Monaco, an experience which has seriously impressed the 55-year-old.
Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard was amazed by the acceleration of Formula E’s new Gen4 car, describing it as an experience unlike anything he had felt before in his career.
During a test drive at the Circuit de Monaco, Coulthard completed four laps in the Gen4 car, which left him highly impressed with its capabilities.
The Gen4 car, set to debut competitively next season, boasts all-wheel drive, 815bhp, and can go from 0-60mph in just 1.8 seconds, with a top speed of 208mph.
Coulthard highlighted the car’s consistent acceleration and grip, especially appreciating the lack of wheel spin during standing starts.
Despite being cautious with the kerbs on the track, Coulthard noted the car’s compliance and impressive grip levels, particularly after accelerating off corners.
Overall, Coulthard’s experience in the Gen4 car showcased a new level of performance and technology in the all-electric racing series, setting high expectations for its competitive debut.
