Christopher Haase, Alexander Sims, and Ben Green managed to win the second Qualifier for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, after a battle between Haase and Max Verstappen.
Christopher Haase praised Max Verstappen for being “very respectful” during their intense battle for the lead in the Nurburgring 24 Hours second qualifying race, with Haase driving the #16 Audi R8 LMS GT3 and Verstappen in the #3 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
The fierce duel between the two drivers lasted for about an hour until Haase had to pit, and eventually, Verstappen’s race was cut short due to a splitter failure, greatly affecting their overall challenge.
Ultimately, Haase’s teammates, Ben Green and Alexander Sims, clinched victory, while Verstappen and Lucas Auer finished in 39th place.
Reflecting on the duel, Haase mentioned that despite feeling less comfortable due to a rear axle issue, they both put on a great show, and he praised Verstappen’s respectful driving style.
Haase also acknowledged Verstappen’s perfect positioning during the race and noted that he couldn’t capitalize on any momentum, emphasizing the importance of timing and strategy in such intense battles on the track.
