Charles Leclerc highlights ‘cheeky’ FIA employee after surprise decision
Charles Leclerc criticized the FIA’s official F1 starter for quickly turning off the lights at the Australian Grand Prix race start. Despite starting 4th, Leclerc took the lead in the first corner with a brilliant start at Melbourne’s Albert Park. He engaged in a battle with George Russell early on, losing positions to Mercedes drivers due to not pitting during Virtual Safety Car periods. Leclerc managed to secure a podium finish for Ferrari in 3rd place. Reflecting on the challenging race, he mentioned the unpredictability of engine and battery performance during overtaking or defending. Leclerc expressed satisfaction with his performance but acknowledged that finishing in 3rd was the best outcome possible.
