The Verdict: Leclerc and Norris Face Rare Stewards’ Decision

Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris arrived a couple of minutes late for the official FIA drivers’ press conference on media day in Monaco.

Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris were punished for being late to the FIA press conference during media day at the Monaco Grand Prix. Both McLaren and Ferrari received a suspended €5,000 fine, to be paid only if the offense recurs within 12 months. The drivers cited a prior commitment for their delay during the summons. The press session, consisting of two groups of three drivers each, is mandatory and lateness can lead to penalties according to the motorsport governing body. Both drivers were scheduled for the initial 30-minute session, which began slightly delayed due to their late arrival in Monte Carlo. The FIA confirmed that Leclerc and Norris would be summoned before the stewards a few hours later on Friday morning, citing a breach of Article B10.1.1.a of the FIA F1 Regulations for late attendance at the Thursday Press Conference.
