Aston Martin Lagonda, the parent company of the F1 team, has launched a High Court appeal.
Aston Martin Lagonda, the parent company of the Aston Martin F1 team, has filed a High Court appeal regarding a trademark dispute with Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd.
The dispute began in 2022 when Zhejiang Geely Holding attempted to register a trademark that Aston Martin Lagonda opposed due to copyright infringement concerns related to their iconic wing logo.
After a hearing in September 2025, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd defended their design citing other brands with similar wing logos, but Aston Martin Lagonda’s case was dismissed, resulting in a payment of £2,200 to Zhejiang Geely.
Despite the verdict on March 16th, 2026, Aston Martin Lagonda has filed an appeal in the High Court to contest the decision.
Aston Martin Lagonda emphasized the importance of protecting their brand and intellectual property, stating they will continue to safeguard their trademarks in the market.
Legal representatives from both parties have been contacted for further comments on the ongoing case.
