Max Verstappen will make his first appearance at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in May. The organisation has announced a number of rule changes.
Max Verstappen will debut at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring next month, driving a Mercedes GT3 with teammates Jules Gounon, Dani Juncadella, and Lucas Auer. Organisers have announced changes to the event’s regulations for 2026, including a new qualifying format based on F1’s structure. The Nordschleife will divide qualifying into Top-Q1, Top-Q2, and Top-Q3; six cars can secure starting positions in Top-Q3. The new system will use results from previous NLS races and the 24h Nürburgring Qualifier to determine advancement. Light panels will be introduced around the Nordschleife for better visibility during the race, alongside traditional marshal flag signals.
