Sainz leads second Italian GP practice after Perez crashes
In second practice at the Italian Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz of Ferrari came out on top, narrowly beating McLaren’s Lando Norris. Sergio Perez crashed out of the session, with his car making contact with a barrier after losing control in the gravel trap. Prior to the crash, Perez was third fastest, only 0.185 seconds behind the leader. Max Verstappen finished fifth, encountering frustration due to being stuck behind slower cars and not being allowed a second attempt at a qualifying simulation lap. Charles Leclerc finished sixth for Ferrari, followed by Alex Albon of Williams and Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin. Mercedes’ George Russell was ninth, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton struggled and finished 17th. Lance Stroll, due to a fuel system issue, was unable to set a time and was classified 10th.
