Power leads open test at Laguna
Will Power set a new record time at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca during a test day for the NTT IndyCar Series. He went nearly four seconds faster than his previous pole record, with a time of 1m.07.2762s. Christian Lundgaard came close, finishing just 0.03s behind Power. Scott McLaughlin and Juri Vips also performed well, coming in third and fourth respectively. Marcus Ericsson rounded out the top five. The new surface received positive feedback from drivers, with Power and Alexander Rossi praising its smoothness, grip, and increased speed. However, the challenging nature of the off-line sections led to multiple red flags throughout the day, including incidents involving Alex Palou and Devlin DeFrancesco.
