The 2021 MotoGP champion Fabio Quartararo struggled at the Italian Grand Prix weekend. He dislocated his shoulder in a crash on Friday, which sent him to the hospital. Despite his excellent qualifying, his poor race pace overshadowed his performance. Quartararo managed a fourth-place finish at Mugello despite the shoulder injury, but he dropped down the order during the race.
He attributed his struggles to “chatter” and a lack of necessary components for speed. Quartararo expressed concern about this new issue affecting his performance only during races. Despite the pain from his injury, he feels it didn’t impact his results at the event. The Yamaha’s straight-line speed was also criticized, with Quartararo highlighting the Ducatis’ ease in overtaking them.
He acknowledged the difficulties they faced in following other bikes and expressed frustration with the challenges they encountered during the race, notably with Maverick Vinales overtaking him frequently.
