Why Russell’s toughest year in F1 hasn’t got him down
George Russell described the 2023 Formula 1 season as the toughest he has had psychologically, but he has been able to bounce back from missed opportunities. He faced crashes in Canada and Singapore, a late off in Monaco, and a clash with Max Verstappen in Las Vegas. Despite these challenges, Russell had a strong performance in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where he finished third despite battling illness. Russell is pushing himself to be ahead of his teammate and not just on par with them. He believes that he will have a different and better season in 2024.
