Aston Martin’s Valkyrie Le Mans Hypercar received a double Balance of Performance break before the World Endurance Championship at Spa this weekend, being 16kg lighter and having a bump in power of 15kW.
For the Spa 6 Hours, the British Valkyrie will weigh 1035kg and have the maximum power of 520kW, in line with the Hypercar category regulations.
This BoP adjustment aims to level the playing field in Hypercar, considering the Valkyrie’s initial races where it lagged behind.
The Aston Martin team can benefit from the improved BoP at Spa based on the performance of the Valkyrie in the previous events.
Additionally, other Hypercar teams have seen changes in weight and power allocations, with some gaining and others losing in different aspects.
The practice for the upcoming WEC event at Spa signals the final preparation before the highly anticipated Le Mans 24 Hours in June, which offers double points in the championship.
