New Sauber team principal Jonathan Wheatley has brought some of his Red Bull secrets to the team, and drivers Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hulkenberg feel the positive effects. Wheatley, along with COO and CTO Mattia Binotto, will lead Sauber’s transition to become Audi’s works F1 outfit for 2026. The team is already showing progress with Wheatley’s influence, notably seen in faster pitstops, like the one in Miami. Both drivers acknowledge that turning the team around will take time, but they are optimistic about the improvements being made. Sauber is focused on pushing their limits and continuing to work towards better qualifying and race performances under Wheatley’s leadership.
