Quartararo: Yamaha MotoGP satellite team "must be an extension of the factory"
The Japanese manufacturer has been without a customer team since the 2022 season, following RNF’s decision to sign with Aprilia. Satellite teams have become crucial for MotoGP success, with Ducati’s Pramac team leading the standings and KTM’s Tech3 also showing promise. Yamaha’s focus now is on establishing a new satellite team, as confirmed by team boss Lin Jarvis after re-signing Quartararo. Quartararo emphasized the importance of full factory support for any satellite Yamaha team, highlighting the benefits of additional riders for testing and development. Talks are ongoing with potential partners for the 2025 season, but Ducati’s VR46 team is likely to remain with the Italian manufacturer.
