Peugeot concedes first WEC win still "very far away"
Peugeot is cautious about its chances of victory in the upcoming WEC race at Fuji, despite a podium finish at the previous round in Monza. The team acknowledges that it still lags behind Toyota and Ferrari in terms of overall performance. The #94 entry experienced gear-selection issues at Monza, further impacting their performance. Peugeot’s primary goal remains to ensure both cars finish the race without any problems. The team believes it has addressed the shifting problems from Monza through the introduction of new mechanical parts. Peugeot expects Fuji to be a favorable track based on last year’s performance. However, changes in the deployment speed of the car’s hybrid system will not impact the balance between the competitors in the Hypercar class.
