Joan Mir suffered a fracture in his right hand during a first-lap crash at the French Grand Prix in the challenging 2025 MotoGP season. Following a collision with Francesco Bagnaia at the first chicane, Mir went down after an incident involving Enea Bastianini, narrowly missed by race winner Johann Zarco. Despite Bagnaia returning to the race, Mir had to retire due to injuries, adding to his difficult season where he has only one points finish in five grands prix. Along with the hand fracture, Mir also experienced neck pain and was taken to the hospital for further evaluation according to Honda. Bastianini received a penalty for the incident and Honda will provide updates on Mir’s condition in the upcoming days.
