Mercedes F1 junior Pin joins the FRECA grid
Pin had a remarkable start to the 2024 F1 Academy season in Saudi Arabia, securing victory in both races, despite a subsequent penalty that dropped her to ninth due to a communication error. She currently holds the third position in the standings behind Abbi Pulling and Maya Weug. Pin stands to earn a fully funded Formula Regional European seat for 2025 if she clinches the F1 Academy title. Rather than waiting, she has teamed up once again with Iron Dames to compete in several World Endurance Championship rounds, including the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours in 2024. Pin is enthusiastic about this new challenge and is determined to inspire young girls worldwide to pursue their racing dreams alongside Marta Garcia. The Iron Dames duo will transition to their first single-seater campaign, competing in a category considered a stepping stone to Formula 3. The Iron Dames project founder, Deborah Mayer, is excited about their entry into FRECA and looks forward to supporting and nurturing female talent in motor racing. The FRECA season will kick off on 12 May at Hockenheim, with Pin possibly missing the Hungarian round due to a clash with the Barcelona F1 Academy event.
