Max Verstappen explained that he skipped the private Formula 1 movie screening for drivers before the Monaco Grand Prix because he preferred to spend more time at home during a busy racing schedule with back-to-back events.
Despite FOM organizing a private viewing of the movie for all 20 F1 drivers and dignitaries in Monaco, Verstappen, along with Lance Stroll, chose not to attend the event.
Verstappen clarified that he had informed FOM well in advance about his absence and stated that the event was not mandatory, emphasizing his desire for personal time at home, especially with his family expanding.
The F1: The Movie, set to be released in June, features a star-studded cast and was filmed at various Grand Prix locations as well as the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking.
Produced under the guidance of Lewis Hamilton and Hollywood’s Jerry Bruckheimer, the film aims to capture the essence of Formula 1 and will hit cinemas internationally on June 25 and in North America on June 27.
