Aprilia rider Jorge Martin has confirmed his intention to part ways with the team at the end of the 2025 MotoGP season, breaking his silence on the matter.
Martin expressed his desire to leave Aprilia, despite only joining the team for the 2025 season, based on a contractual clause allowing him to exit after round six if he is not in title contention.
The situation has become complicated due to Martin’s season-long injuries, with Aprilia asserting that his contract remains valid and the clause should not apply.
In a statement on social media, Martin clarified that he has not breached the contract and emphasized his decision to exercise his right to be released for the 2026 season.
Despite the challenges faced, Martin maintains a respectful and non-confrontational approach towards Aprilia, expressing his appreciation for the team and their efforts.
The 27-year-old rider, who debuted in MotoGP in 2021 with Pramac Ducati, aims to move forward with clarity and continue giving his best both on and off the track.
