Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll received a one-place grid drop at Formula 1’s Monaco Grand Prix for colliding with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc during Friday’s practice session. The incident occurred when Stroll crossed towards the racing line as Leclerc was approaching on a hot lap, leading to unavoidable contact. Stroll’s session ended due to rear suspension damage and a required gearbox change, while Leclerc had to replace his front wing. The FIA stewards determined that Stroll was at fault for cutting across Leclerc’s path, resulting in a grid position penalty and one additional penalty point on his license. Despite the incident, Leclerc managed to set the fastest time during the session, ahead of Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.
