Fabio Quartararo’s British GP Hopes Dwindle as Sprint Collapse Casts Shadow

Fabio Quartararo, the poleman of the British Grand Prix, expressed skepticism about his prospects for the Sunday race after being overtaken by top Ducati riders during the Saturday sprint, dropping him to seventh place.

Even though Quartararo took an early lead at Silverstone, he was passed by Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez on their Ducatis, revealing the power disadvantage of his Yamaha.

Despite securing pole position without a tow from another rider and displaying impressive skills, Quartararo struggled with the straightline speed deficit in the race, causing frustration and disappointment.

The Yamaha rider highlighted the critical issue of grip affecting his performance, with the M1 reacting poorly to changing track conditions between qualifying and the race.

Considering the anticipated decrease in grip levels on Sunday and the choice of a more durable medium rear tyre, Quartararo acknowledged the slim chances of a favorable outcome for the race day.
