The stewards’ decision outlining Verstappen’s penalty made clear they would not have acted against him for rejoining ahead of Russell, with another document noting Russell’s move at Turn 1 caused him to briefly lose control. Horner reflected on the challenges faced by the team in making such split-second decisions and highlighted the need for clarity and guidance from race control in such situations.
