The NY Racing team competes part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, and despite running six races this year, they failed to qualify for the Daytona 500. This weekend at Pocono Raceway, Brennan Poole will drive the No. 44 Chevrolet for the team.
Although Poole races full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, this will be his first Cup start in 2023. The team faced a setback during inspection, failing three times before finally passing on the fourth attempt. As a result, Poole will start from the rear of the field and serve a pass-through penalty after taking the green flag.
The team’s car chief has been ejected from the track, and they lost the privilege of choosing their pit selection. Additionally, Josh Berry in the No. 21 Wood Brothers Ford and Cody Ware in the No. 51 Rick Ware Racing Ford won’t partake in qualifying due to technical issues.
