Alex Albon Sets Sights on Historic F1 Thailand Grand Prix Entry

Thai racer Alex Albon is collaborating with the Thai government on a project to bring Formula 1 to Bangkok, sharing some details about the plans for a Thailand Grand Prix. Albon expresses optimism about the prospects of having a home grand prix included in the Formula 1 calendar soon. Thailand seems closer than many other countries in realizing this goal, with Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali having already visited the country this year. Despite recent uncertainty surrounding Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the Thai cabinet has approved a $1.2 billion bid to host F1 on the streets of Bangkok by 2028. Albon, having engaged with Shinawatra and emphasizing the importance of the initiative for Thailand’s tourism and economy, highlights the progress and positive signs towards making the Grand Prix a reality. The proposed circuit, set to be located away from central Bangkok, is expected to feature unique characteristics that differentiate it from typical street tracks, promising an exciting addition to the Formula 1 calendar.
