Albon fulfilled “scary” expectations of Las Vegas F1 form
Albon was optimistic before the event, believing that the characteristics of the track would benefit the Williams team. Despite a wall contact and a red flag during FP3, he still managed to secure sixth place. Albon admitted that he needed time to regain his confidence and speed in qualifying, but ultimately finished in sixth place in both Q2 and Q3. Logan Sargeant also had a strong qualifying session, finishing in seventh place in Q3. Albon acknowledged that the track was well-suited to the team’s car and expressed satisfaction with their performance. He emphasized the importance of tire management during the race, as graining could make the cars slower and vulnerable to overtakes by other drivers. The team made some setup changes to address graining issues experienced on Friday and hoped it would benefit their race performance.
