The 65-year-old British designer is said to have become disillusioned with the power struggles within Red Bull following an investigation into Team Principal Christian Horner’s behavior. Aston Martin has reportedly made a lucrative offer to Newey, while Ferrari is rumored to be keen on renewing its longstanding interest in him. However, Newey’s Red Bull contract includes a 12-month non-compete clause that could hinder his immediate move to another team. Negotiations are underway to potentially bypass this clause and allow Newey to start working with a new team next season. Ferrari appears to be the most likely destination for Newey, as Aston Martin’s deal may not be as appealing to him, and McLaren has been ruled out by CEO Zak Brown. Mercedes was also considered a possible landing spot due to their interest in signing Max Verstappen, but Toto Wolff has indicated that they are merely observing the situation as fans.
