Luca Marini snatched pole away from Fabio Di Gianantonio for the Qatar Grand Prix by just 0.067s, while title rivals
Marini started off quickly in the qualifying session, ending the opening runs in second place behind Di Gianantonio. Di Gianantonio set a new lap record and was half a second ahead of everyone else at one point. However, Marini managed to find even more time on his final attempt and secured his second career pole position. Di Gianantonio settled for second place, with team-mate Alex Marquez taking third. Bagnaia and Martin finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Marquez was the best Honda rider, finishing ahead of three Aprilia bikes. Vinales was only able to secure eighth place. Quartararo, despite showing good race rhythm in practice, could only manage 14th place on the grid. Bastianini missed out on the top two of Q1, finishing 15th. Morbidelli and Pol Espargaro struggled and ended up in 18th and 19th place, respectively.
