Sky presenters tout theory for why Hamilton lost out to Russell last year
Lewis Hamilton, who has been struggling since his reign in F1 was ended by Max Verstappen, is now showing signs of his best form in over a year. Despite being outperformed by teammate George Russell last year, Hamilton recently signed a new Mercedes deal. According to Martin Brundle, it took Hamilton over a year to recover mentally from the Abu Dhabi 2021 race. Both drivers have had their fair share of challenges, but Hamilton currently has the upper hand in terms of results and speed. Last year was difficult for Hamilton, but he is now back in top form. Mercedes’ decision to extend Hamilton and Russell’s contracts until 2025 allows for continuity and a better understanding between the drivers and the team.
