Russell wants Monza to modify ‘Get out of Jail free’ corner
During the Italian Grand Prix, the Mercedes driver received a five-second time penalty for cutting a chicane to stay ahead of Esteban Ocon from Alpine. However, despite the penalty, George Russell managed to finish in fifth place, ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton, who also received a time penalty for causing a collision. Russell explained that he took the risk because he wanted to maintain his position and have a chance to undercut the drivers ahead of him. He also mentioned that he would like to see a change in the corner where he skipped the chicane. Russell believed that the penalty would not significantly impact his race, as he was already in a favorable position.
