Max Verstappen’s achievement of utterly dominating the 2023 F1 season is being “underestimated”, Fernando Alonso believes.
The Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen, overcame an early setback and successfully navigated a heavy rainstorm to secure a red-flagged victory, equaling Sebastian Vettel’s record of nine consecutive wins at the Dutch Grand Prix. Verstappen’s win, his third in a row at Zandvoort, solidified his position as the dominant force in Formula 1, with 11 victories out of 13 races this season. His commanding performance prompted fellow driver Fernando Alonso to acknowledge Verstappen’s superiority, admitting that the Dutchman is currently outperforming himself and other drivers. While Alonso believes he can still deliver good results, he recognizes that Verstappen’s consistent excellence sets him apart from the competition.
