Yamaha’s strategic decision: Excluding V4 MotoGP engine test at Aragon

Yamaha has decided not to test its prototype V4 engine at the upcoming Aragon MotoGP test.

Observations at Silverstone showed Yamaha bikes struggling on straights compared to the Ducati bikes, indicating the need for engine adjustments.

The focus is on improving straight-line performance and rear grip characteristics of the bikes with the V4 engine prototype.

Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez mentioned they have two engines to try, one being the inline configuration tested at Aragon.

Fabio Quartararo hinted at a new engine being tested on Monday for further improvements in grip and performance.

While Yamaha has shown recent improvement, particularly with Quartararo, their engine development remains a key area of focus for enhanced competitiveness.
